Social Status

People of different castes and religions are inhabitants of this place. Each Cluster is made of each caste. Traditional houses are made of stone and mud but they are getting replaced by cement and bricks. The major castes are Tamangs, Brahmins , Chhetries, Newars and other untouchable castes. They are the Hindus and Buddhists living in harmony for centuries. The Hindus go to Buddhist monasteries for worship and the Buddhists also go to the Hindus temples with respect although they follow their own traditions and rituals. Diversity can be seen in their rituals and cultures. The major festivals Dashain and Tihar are observed by all inhabitants. Some other local festivals are celebrated together.

Nepali Language is spoken by Brahmins and Chhetries but the Tamangs and the Newars have their own mother tongue. However, Nepali Language is spoken by all castes and creeds. The Staple food includes Dal, Bhat, Tarkari, Achhar, Dhindo, Gundruk, Roti etc. Meat and Sweets are rarely offered. Women wear traditional costumes Cholo(Blouse) and Fariya(Sari).
