Brief History of the school

Shree Laxmi Narayan Secondary School was established in Bikram Sambat 2013 Ashad 3 (1956 July 16) with the active initiation of local educationists with its name, Shree Laxmi Narayan Primary School. There was no building for running the school. So, the classes were run in the local Krishna Pati at Dapcha. The school was run from grade one to grade five starting from 2013 BS to 2017 BS .

 As per the recommendation of the school supervisor, the school was transformed from Dapcha Chhetrebanjh to Shyampati where it is currently located. As there was a provision that the distance between two schools should have been at least two kilometer. After the School was set up at Shyampati, the school management committee was formed to run the school smoothly under the chairmanship of Thulo Krishna Chandra Acharya. Since the school had no building the classes were conducted in Chaughada Pati built by Shivalaya Guthi, a kind of local trust.


After the school was shifted to Shyampati in 2018 BS local people supported to the school to run classes in the building of five rooms. Another building was constructed in the support of district Panchayat in 2022 BS. Both of these buildings was destroyed by the earthquake of 2045 BS. In order to revive the school the then Ministry of Physical Planning and local people a four rooms earthquake resistant was constructed. Similarly donations campaigns were carried out to renovate the the buildings which were devastated by earthquake. A small contribution was also made by the school teachers.


In addition to that Rabin Lama, one of the former students of the school took initiation to bring in some French people organized to form a NGO in Nepal and they helped to constructed a ten room building. Rabin took initiation to support the school financially to run classes from nine and ten successively.


Many helping hands are helping poor students distributing clothes and teaching learning materials now too. Although Rabin has been living in France, he is quite anxious to provide quality education to the poor kids in this remote area.


The then elected Chairman of the then village Development Committee, Padam Bahadur Lama contributed to upgrade this school from Lower Secondary Level to Secondary Level in 2056 BS. He helped in providing financial support from the VDC and the school was upgraded to grade nine and ten. The new Management Committee was formed under chairmanship of Mr. Padam Bahadur Lama. Mr. Krishna Chandra Acharya was assigned as headmaster of the school.


After the expiry of two years tenure of the management committee, a new management Committee was also formed as per the provision of the Education Act 2052. Therefore, Mr. Ram Bahadur Lama was elected as Chairman of new Management Committee and Mr. Murari Prasad Poudel was appointed as the Principal of the school.



The news management Committee was formed in 2066 under the Chairmanship of Mr. Karma Gyalbo Lama and he took initiation to run the class 11 and 12 collecting donations from local people successively. Mr. Ram Bahadur Tamang was assigned as Headmaster to run the higher secondary level.
